Reading, reading, reading… or not.
So, not to toot my own horn, but in January, I freaking rocked the reading front. I’m currently six books ahead of my yearly schedule, thank goodness, but February just has not worked with me at all.
And I can’t even blame February. What I can blame? World of Warcraft! For those that aren’t gamers, just skip this part, it’s going to get boring really fast. For those that are, WoW just released new Allied Races, that are basically races that either chose the Horde or Alliance to fight with. After only having eight races for however long (A LONG TIME), I’m really excited for this allied races. The down side is that you have to earn faction to be able to talk these allied races into joining the team. So, for the last two weeks I have been dilligently getting onto WoW to do my goshdarn(insert LOTS of bleeps here) dailies.
I freaking HATE dailies. Especially when I’m over geared and there is no point to them. UGH!
There are other reasons for dailies, but grinding faction reputation was the major turning point for me. I did dailies every day for two weeks. I hated life, but I forced myself to do it because these guys look freaking cool.
While on WoW, I am able to listen to audio books. Thank goodness or I really wouldn’t get any reading done, AT ALL. But unless the book is very exciting, it’s easy to loose my way and I get bored or don’t pay attention at all. Fortunately, I listened to another Pratchett (I swear that man was a genius) and my first psychological thriller from Gillian Flynn! Those definitely kept my attention!
I figured out after starting Sharp Objects that this was actually her debut! I’m shocked. There were a few things in there that were graphic, REALLY graphic, but it made me like her even more. Planning on checking out the library and seeing if they have more of her books. Super excited that I finally picked her up. Should have a long time ago, but I really hate it when there’s a popular author out there and there’s a full train going… I don’t like jumping on band wagons. Sometimes it’s worth it!
Oh my goodness… I have no idea for this week. I’m not expecting much.
Books I purchased or received through Netgalley:
I did have to purchase a book for my Terry Pratchett reads! Guys!!!! I am so excited! There are VERY few books that I have not read of his, especially in the Discworld novels, so this book was a must. Also hubster got me the newest Jamie Oliver cookbook! Get ready to see some recipes because this cookbook is amazing! I just need to figure out how to convert from British to American.
Coming up in February!
Don’t forget about this cute challenge! I haven’t even participated yet…. life is so hard!
