Puppies! All the time!

Hubby has ventured out to go get our newest little baby from his mom. I got to stay home with an already full house of pups while watching movies and reading! It was only three days of alone time but it was nice, then again, I really do love subjecting him to my horror movies and watching him cringe while I laugh. What can I say? I’m a bit evil.

Yesterday all the dogs were freaking out. Full throttle, bark at the moon at the top of their lungs, freaking. We live in a small town, but we DO have neighbors, so I ran outside to see why everyone was being nuts. Well, it seems that they found another little pup! I think he crawled under our fence but couldn’t find a way to crawl back out again. Poor guy was being surrounded by pups four times his size!

No collar, so I went to Facebook and posted pics and we’re going to the vet on Monday to see if he has a chip. THIS. LITTLE. GUY. He is following me around everyone. He knows the words treat, stay, night night, sit, and probably more! He’s pretty clean and doesn’t look like he was starving, so I’m guessing he has a lovely family out there. When we all went to bed (yes the dogs sleep with me, like I have a choice in the matter), he jumped right onto the bed and burrowed like he’s done it a thousand times before.

The downside to him finding our backyard is that if we don’t find his family we will have 7 dogs! 7!!! I mean, I guess everyone says that is a lucky number, but my lucky number is 4 universe… just saying. I can’t complain though. He’s just an adorable little pup. I’m hoping he gets along with Reba, who is also going to be overwhelmed when she gets here! She is going from a ONE pup home to 7! It’s going to be an adventure! Gotta love them though. They all have unique personalities.

And boy can small pups bark! I’ll have to get a video of this little guy. We’re calling him Charlie. 😀 I was going to go with Calvin but Charlie kept popping up in my brain. Sometimes you just have to roll with it.

Since the hubster was gone, I did get to watch My Death Day! Finally! I wanted to watch it on my bday but it came out the week after. So rude movie companies! It was hilarious! Not super scary but it goes with my Psychological Thriller theme that I’ve had going on lately.

And speaking of, I also got to see My Friend Dahmer. Now this movie was not for the weak at heart. It slowly escalates as Jeffrey Dahmer gets more and more frustrated with life. I think it brings to the forefront the importance of families talking about mental health, but also of parents paying attention. They might not have fully realized but in the movie Jeff’s Dad notices that he’s in this little shed way too much. He’s in there looking over dead animals that he put into acid so he can watch them slowly disintegrate. To me, I have a love for science, this sounds thrilling! He didn’t kill anything (at this point) but his Dad took this away. Hindsight 20/20 wouldn’t it have been better to address the issues in a way that allowed him to study the anatomy without him having to become a serial killer? If you’re squeamish, don’t watch. It doesn’t glorify him or get into the murders, but it does show the intensity that he endured while also showing the sad truth of his mental state. Maybe there wasn’t anything anyone could have done to get him off of the path.

On a funnier note, I also started The Santa Clarita Diet! I had to stop it and nearly choked on cake I was laughing so hard. I’m saving this one for the hubby. I’m so thrilled that it is as funny as I hoped. We’ll probably binge watch while he’s resting up from the trip.

Reading Plans

Getting some books from my MIL, so I’m super excited about those! Hubster said he has two boxes of books for me! But I also had a great day at the library! I try not to borrow more than four, but it was difficult this go around. I actually only had two in my hands, Illuminae and How To Be Human, when I saw Speak. I don’t read many graphic novels but the pictures are amazing. Figured I could give it a try and worse case scenario, I’ll take it back if I don’t like it.

I’ve also been using Jamie Oliver’s Five Ingredient cook book but keep forgetting to take pictures. My Dad thumbed through the book and picked out like 20 or so recipes so I told him I’ll get him one for Father’s Day. We were both drooling over quite a few of the recipes. Hopefully I’ll remember to get some pics and post some of the meals we’ve already tried.

I have to agree with the hobbit here.

Heather’s Reading Hideaway has a discussion on the changes coming to Goodreads. I mainly use Goodreads as a way to track my books, and as an Amazon employee I love to support, but she brought up some great points. I downloaded Litsy last night so I’ll see if that’s a nice change. If not though, Goodreads is good enough for MY personal needs that I don’t really want to change. I do love supporting the authors and publishers though. What do you guys think about these changes? Is it enough to get you to move to another app?

Winter Blues?

I Wish I Lived in a Library: What’s Getting me Through Winter. The weather is going back and forth here, but what makes it worse when we do have a 30 degree day, is that the heat KILLS me. I wake up with a headache and a bloody nose. I’m trying to drink more water and I think we need to get a humidifier because it’s driving me nuts! She has a few great things that will help get you through the rest of winter.

Spring Bloggiesta!

Spring Bloggiesta will be a week long challenge, March 19-25th, where we all get focus on that massive to-do list for improving, maintaining, and generally making your blog great.

How is everyone doing with Daylight Savings? I got up early this morning and then proceeded to take a nap anyway…

I hope we find his family. If not, we have the room. And the guy eats less than 1/2 of what the big guys eat. Seven is a LOT though. Thank goodness we love dogs.

Sounds to me like you might just have #7. Although, if he has a family missing him somewhere, I hope you find them. Is there something wrong with dogs in bed? Hmmmmm guess I didn’t get that memo either. We watched Happy Death Day too and was pleasantly surprised. Sure I’ve seen better but it wasn’t a total waste. I binged Santa Clarita Diet when it first came out in one weekend. Did you know Season 2 releases on March 23rd. Can’t wait! Such a good library hold. I’ve lost count of how many I have out from the library right now.

I got the hubby to watch that first episode with me for The Santa Clarita Diet. He just looks at me and says, yup, this is totally you! It’s hilarious. I just can’t eat or drink anything while I watch it! We did find his family! AND the wife is pregnant so the poor girl was a mess and missing him! So, we’re back down to 6. Still probably too many, but I love them all.

It is! We have already told ourselves that once we’re down to two, we’re staying at two. None of this crap of replacing every dog anymore. Which is really sad, but needed. They are all spoiled but I don’t want any animal missing out on love! Which is also why we adopt so much.

I agree! Although, my hubby may complain. But he reads a lot as well. So he can say that books are better than girls! Win/Win!
