Getting Back to Reading!

I basically took a month of reading off. I have a few book reviews I have to get finished up before I can say goodbye completely to February, but I feel the spring hitting my soul! I want to get back to my normal routine and read my behind off.

Unfortunately, reading off my behind is not an option, so I did talk the hubby into joining the YMCA. Our local Y is about 20 minutes away. And I thought it would be a nice way to get out of the house and get in shape, while also listening to books!

He did get me a fitbit for Christmas, so now I’m paying attention to the amount of steps I walk, daily. And, that Fitbit is a jerk because he (yeah, not sure why he’s a he but I’ll just run with it) did tell me I have to move more. Thank goodness for Audio books!

I’m also just looking forward to getting outside and reading before it gets too hot. We’re already in the 80’s so I know the summer is going to be sweltering. In two months I’ll want to stay inside again.

We’re both fans of movies and just recently saw Black Panther. It was so good that I want to do a full review but we’ll see. There’s so much out there that I feel like everyone is being inundated with how everyone else feels. I can say this, if you enjoy Marvel movies, go see it. If you’re not a fan of action satisfaction and may not be the biggest fan of Marvel (that title is reserved for me, by the way!), then don’t worry about seeing it. It’s brilliantly done, the story line is amazing, and I was very happy to see actors that I’ve come to love in it! But again, if you’re not a fan of action, this one just may not be for you. And there are so many other movies coming out this year!

Puppies, puppies, and more puppies!

Hubby and I are adopting a cute pup from my Mother in Law. We’re already at five and weren’t planning on getting another, but this little adorable gal is a sweetie and MIL can’t take her with her. When I was visiting about two years ago, she and I got along like peas and carrots! She’s a lap dog, which might upset my current lap baby, but they’re both small, so we’re hoping it’ll work! Plus, she’s so tiny, I can take her upstairs to work with me. She’s the only one that won’t bark while I’m on the phone!

I’m hoping all goes well. Not only for our new baby, but also for my MIL. This is going to be a huge adjustment for her, and the hubster has a little bit of time to help, but sadly not much. Reba also loves to read. She could share my lap with a book ALL DAY LONG. That’s a great attitude in a pup.

Reading Plans

Since I’m back on track, I’m hoping to get to a few Netgalley and to finish Annihilation soon! I want to see that in theaters, but with hubby helping his mom, I’m not sure I’ll be able to get there in time. Have you guys seen it?

I love making my monthly reading plans, so I’ll skip this and do another post later but I am excited that I got Still Me from Jojo Moyes!

Found this baby from an old Facebook post! So true Boromir, so true.

What are you guys up to this month? Are there any movies you can’t wait to see?

So far March has been “mood reading March” for me. I decide to read one thing and pick up something completely different. Although I have already finished 2 books and half a graphic novel so I’m not complaining. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed The Black Panther. It sounds like just the kind of movie I’d love. Hope things go well for your MIL and how could you resist that face? Did I miss her name? She looks so adorable and I love that nose.

Her name is Reba! I helped name her when they adopted her so she’s like my little pup sibling. I also got to spoil her rotten when I was visiting, so hopefully she remembers. Either way, she’s going to be spoiled rotten again. I already found a tiny little collar that has pink dots on it and a little tutu. The hubby said no… ;( What!?

I wouldn’t say Black Panther HAS to be seen in theaters, but it was very well done. Didn’t love the end cinematics, but like always, I love waiting for them to see how Marvel is going to surprise us.

Good luck in March. I’m trying to write my list for what I want to read now. It is not going well!

I totally agree with Boromir. When I ran out of space I got rid of a set of drawers and a wardrobe and bought two more bookshelves for my bedroom. Now they are overflowing, I’m out of options…but I’ll keep buying the books!

THAT. IS. AWESOME! I actually have an older wardrobe but I need to figure out how to clean the poor thing first. It was in a garage for a LONG time. What a wonderful idea.
