Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~

~ It’s a chance to share news~

A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

What’s happening here:

I haven’t done a Sunday Post in a while, even though I love them. So much has happened this year that it is hard to keep up with keeping up! I thought it was time to get back to work and to get myself organized.

Hubby and I bought a house and our yard is so large that we decided to adopt another dog. That makes five dogs and one cat that thinks he’s a dog. Sadly, our Pitt was traumatized by our last land lord’s dog and now this guy that is so lovable, caring, and enjoys people of all shapes, sizes, and colors, is the one that is not getting along with the new guy.

The house is fabulous though. I am finally getting some time to read after all the moving and painting. I am going to try my hand at gardening soon as well. I’ll probably put up a few posts soon on my wins and/or (most likely) fails. Either way it should be fun.

What’s Cooking:

My hubby and I started with Blue Apron over a year and a half ago. We’ve since tried multiple different boxes but have found Plated to be the best for the selection and cost. They’re a little more expensive than Home Chef (which I would prefer) but Home Chef’s shipping is really slow. That would be great but because they do not ship fast, and they do not pay for the shipping to go any faster, our food has been sitting overnight in the city. Needless to say, we had to stop that one. Plated, however, has some really interesting meals and they are ALWAYS here on time. The one exception was when Baton Rouge was completely flooded out, and that was obvious.

This week:

Little Gem Caesar:

This was delicious! The Caesar dressing was very easy, and super fast. No anchovies, which is a plus for me. Easy, very fast meal. The longest portion of this recipe was baking the chick peas and potatoes.

Only downside, the hubby and I both wanted more dressing! It was easy enough to do, so it would be easy to replicate.

Bok Choy Stir Fry:

While not horrible, this one wasn’t my favorite. Not even sure what it was missing, sadly. My hubby loved it and took the leftovers for lunch.

Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pops:

You would think these would be a winner. They were good but not great. I think I put a little too much chocolate, peanut butter sauce on for my taste. Thankfully, the Maldon Salt that was added to the top was just right to take away from all that sweetness. Recommend to chocolate lovers. Or skip the chocolate and make peanut butter rice crispy treats!

Next week would be Terry Pratchett’s 69th bday! Be More Like Terry!

Thanks to Herding Cats and Burning Soup I’m staying 30 posts ahead. If you’ve never joined in on Blog Ahead, it’s fun but most importantly it’s an easy way to help get organized. I’m staying at 30 posts scheduled even though the last Blog Ahead ended a few weeks ago. If I can keep this far ahead, I’m hoping the next Blog Ahead will get me to 50 posts scheduled. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is nearly upon us! The big day is April 29th! I’m going to start my post with what I’m hoping to read during that 24 hours but that is IF I can stay up. I tell you what, getting old is crazy. I used to stay up until all kinds of night hours, like I had some owl dna or something and now, the second the sun starts going down, I’m ready for bed. Or at least for a nap. I’m going to really put in the effort to get in my 24 hours this time though! GL if you do this!
