Sunday Post!

August 17, 2014 Sunday Post 7

sunday-post2The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~

~ It’s a chance to share news~

A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Thank you SO much for the suggestions with my pup issue! We love these pups and not being able to Pupstake them outside to play for extended periods (just walks) has been hard on them and us. Plus the fact that dog fighting is extremely stressful and scary.

But now all that stress is gone! Thanks to you lovely people!

We found a fence that isn’t very tall but it will allow for us to be outside and play! And we did have fun playing. As a matter of fact I nearly got a sunburn so we had to buy a little umbrella and some chairs (had to!) Now I can sit outside with the pups while I read. Bruno

I think Bruno is one happy pup, and I am a happy mom now! All the dogs loved it and even though we were a bit worried that Gio (that brown pup above) would jump over it, we haven’t had issues yet. AND these things are so easy to put together that Paul (the hubster) had it together in less than an hour! We can move them around, add to them, or bring them with us when we move.

Life is good! Now to go buy some sunscreen.

AND this is perfect timing because Bout of Books is Bout of Bookshappening tomorrow! Here are my goals for this week:

  • Sit outside all day long!
  • Do NOT get a sunburn!
  • Two books a day. Tuesday and Thursday are school days so that might cut into a bit of time but if I can still swing two books, that’ll be awesome!
  • One Audio book.
  • Two books off of my review list.
  • Three from Netgalley.
  • Most importantly: HAVE FUN!

How’s your week?

I’m so happy to see your dogs playing outside! I knew a portable fence would help because even if you have to supervise, it is still outside time and exercise for them.
I didn’t know you had more than one dog, just thought you had Bruno, the cute white pup in the photo (my eldest has a white pit but without the eye patch).

Sounds like you are really putting a lot of pressure on yourself for Bout of Books, but whatever you get done (excluding the sunburn!) will be a good thing.
    Enjoy your reading this week!

I don’t know how to do read a thons without pressure! But being outside and reading = zero pressure so it should be amazing! Plus other than The Goldfinch most of the books I’m reading are pretty small. I cannot read too many big books because then I’ll burn out! And nobody likes that.

We seriously cannot thank you enough for the idea!!! The hubby even made sure to tell me to thank you for him. I cannot wait to extend it so they have more room but for now it’s amazing. We’ve been stuck in the house pretty much since Bruno adopted us (he stayed under our porch for two weeks until I was finally able to coax him out with some food) about a year and a half ago! We even got to talk to our neighbors.

I’m glad the solution worked out and you’re happy with your dogs outside while having no fear 🙂 For the sunburns, I used shea butter this summer after a bad burn. I hardly peeled and it eased the burn – that or I have a tough skin lol ! Enjoy reading outside with the pups, have a great week 😉

Ohhh.. I never thought of Shea Butter! Just the name butter scared me away. I’m so not used to being in the sun so I’m even more sensitive than usual so the more ways I can keep my skin safe, the better!

They are! We’re already talking about just buying more. Plus I’m just having fun hanging out with them outside. Although, to be honest, DAMN IT’S HOT out there! Now I can’t wait for fall.
