At the insistence of my husband, I decided to go ahead and read The Martian. Immediately I enjoyed his voice. The narration is perfect and with the movie coming out I could see Matt Damon being this personThe Martian. So far it is fantastic and I am hoping to finish it in time to see the movie!
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he’s sure he’ll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him & forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded & completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—& even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won’t have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment or plain-old “human error” are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn’t ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—& a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?
Things are finally going my way. In fact, things are going great. I have a chance to live after all.
Log entry: soul 37: I AM FUCKED AND I’M GOING TO DIE!
This poor guy makes me crack up just as much as he makes me cringe in fear.
Well, my math is a fucking liar.
Dammit, Jim, I’m a botanist, not a chemist!
This book was amazing! The movie was fabulous also. So much so that the hubby wants to do a He Said / She said! Love it!!

Anna, I am not joking.. it is amazing! I still have to write my review because I do not want to fangirl all over the place, but that is SO what is going to happen! Book and movie were both amazing!

I hate to say this, but the movie is so close to the book that you could actually watch without reading!
