Damnation of the Blocked Imagination

July 16, 2015 Poetry, White 0

by Lilly Baxley

The words unspoken

from fair lips flushed pink,

stories untold

fastened in the pipes of a broken sink

dripping unwieldy

driving you mad,

a metronome  stuck in motion,

a rhythm for the words you can’t get passed.

A sky shrouded in clouds

a valley filled with weeds,

your mind runs through files

your hand jots information you don’t need.

It’s all worthy of the flames

to ash they shall turn,

what you deem unworthy of greatness

is fated to burn.

Longing for that precious journey

that haunts your dreams

starving to see it on paper

bound by permanent seams.

To enchant the minds of those who read

begging for an adventure they can’t find.

You wish to give it to them,

lovingly laced in a book bind.
