Cover Characteristics – Elephants

March 5, 2017 Based on the Book, Guilty Pleasures 7

This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. Sugar kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!

Each week we will post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite covers with that characteristic. If you want to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic, then just make a post, grab the meme picture (or make your own) and leave your URL in Linky (so we can visit).

March 5th – Elephants

I like how three of the below seem quite surreal. I was surprised to see quite a few covers with elephants. Most were a bit childish or had a child like feel, most likely for children or had something to do with the circus. So these were my favorites out of the bunch. Although! I must admit I wanted to put Terry Pratchett’s Fifth Elephant on this list but the cover is playful as well and didn’t hold up to these standards.

Agatha Christie’s Cover is just neat! Not my favorite but a nice, playful change.

5. Elephants Can Remember

4. To the Elephant Graveyard

3. An Elephant in the Garden

2. The Beauty of the Beasts

And the winner is:

The Happiness Hypothesis

Ooh I like The Happiness Hypothesis a lot! Just the underwater shot of the elephant swimming is kinda cool. I also like To The Elephant Graveyard and the Christie one (with that old school cover)! Great picks.

Elephant in the Garden was so adorable but all the picks this week were. I had no idea there were so many covers with elephants on them.

My pleasure! These are fun and talking about book covers is an obsession!
