Today we’re kicking off the new series I told you about last week called Coffee for Your Heart. The concept is simple: I’m asking you to pour out a little love with your words every Wednesday. You’re an encourager and you’re going to be fabulous at this! I’m so excited! Holly Gerth @ http://holleygerth.com/
Encouragement for Jan 8th:
“You’re beautiful…just as you are.”
Uh oh… another hard one for a LOT of people out there! There are so many reasons why we all have issues about our bodies. Why nearly every one of us sets resolutions to exercise more or to start dieting at the beginning of each year.
It’s so easy to look in the mirror and see your flaws. It is so much harder to see that you are beautiful!
I read something once that said the way to find your beauty is to just find ONE spot, just ONE that you like. Your wrist, your neck, your big toe, whatever! Just that one spot and look at that spot in the mirror and think to yourself… “My, I do have one sexy big toe!” My spot is my belly. I love my belly. I always have. So when I hated nearly everything about myself and hated looking in the mirror, I would simply concentrate on that one body part.
Then something wonderful happened! I then found that I liked TWO body parts! That was nearly miraculous for me. It took a while but now, four years later I can look in the mirror and think that I’m pretty. I’m ME. I don’t want to change a thing. Sure I wouldn’t mind losing ten pounds but if I didn’t, that would be ok too!
Don’t judge yourself!
Don’t look in a magazine or at the pretty girl next to you and judge yourself. Think of how great you are as you are! We are all different, we are all beautiful.
Look in that mirror and see that you are the ONLY YOU in this world. YOU are what makes this world beautiful. Your attitude, your spirit, your perseverance, your love, your hair, your body, yes even your big toe! All of it is what makes you who you are.
