Bout of Books & Jan Readathon

January 5, 2018 Blog, Guilty Pleasures, Read a thon 2

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 8th and runs through Sunday, January 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 21 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team.

And for the rest of Jan, Season’s of Reading’s Winter’s Respite RaT  will be in full swing, and runs all of January!  #WintersRespite

My goals for the week:

  • Read, read, read!
  • Probably drink lots of coffee and snuggle with pups. They are like little heaters! Or large heaters if we’re talking about the Pittie sitting on my lap.
  • A book a day throughout Bout of Books. Thursday and Friday are full work days so that might cut into a bit of time but if I can still swing one a day, that’ll be awesome!
  • A few from Netgalley to get that awful TBR down!
  • Most importantly: HAVE FUN!

Reading today: Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon, Twelfth Night by Shakespeare
Total number of books I’ve read: 2

Tuesday 01/09 (My BDAY!)
Challenge: Share your 2018 reading goal(s): More Classics! Hence Frankenstein and Twelfth Night. To diversify my reading, but to also go back to the genres I love if I get stumped. Also, not to beat myself up when I DNF, like I finally did with Kidnapped.
Reading today: Tried Kidnapped (AGAIN). Decided I had enough of that one, switched to Frankenstein!
Total number of books I’ve read: 2
Notes: Birthday today so the hubby and I watched Shakespeare in Love and got onto WoW! We had a delightful, restful day, but not much reading was done. Purchased Annihilation, A Wrinkle in Time, and Everything Everything for my bday! Then went to the library and got The Hate U Give, The Sun is Also a Star, Hamlet, and Persuasion. It’s going to be a fabulous month of reading!

Challenge: Book spine rainbow
Reading today: Frankenstein, Sourcery by Terry Pratchett
