Has this savage Highlander finally found a woman to tame him?

Nareen Grant is confident, well-educated, and quick with a dagger. So when her brother, Kael, unknowingly sends her to live at a cousin’s secret brothel, she escapes to court where she meets the arrogant Highlander, Saer MacLeod…

Saer is considered savage even by most Highlanders. It will take an extraordinary woman to handle him, and Nareen enchants him like no one he’s met before. When a furious Kael threatens revenge against the cousin who wronged his sister, Saer knows its his one chance to win over Nareen and reclaim the respect his family deserves…and he’s going to take it.

My Thoughts

Wow… I loved the synopsis but when I started reading this I thought it was going to be a simple and hopefully fun romance. What I got instead was a book filled with courage and fear, lust and love, and a whole lot of stubbornness!
I simply loved the characters. The plot was easy enough to discern but it was the way that everything happened that keeps this book apart from other romance. And the characters! They were lively and full of everything that any person would want to be full of. Some hard times happened to both of the main characters but they used the past to make them harder, both to their detriment and to their learning, but it just filled this book with a ton of fun stuff!
The push and pull between Nareen, who can wield a knife like no woman should know how, and Saer was amazing. I loved the interaction between them even when they were being stubborn beyond belief. I want to know more about them! Amazingly, the characters were done so well that I even want to know what happened to Abigail and she did nothing but annoy me!
I loved every single word and although this is actually #4 in the Sutherlands series, I have not read any of the others and did not feel that I was missing anything. Although now I love Mary Wine’s writing and will want to stalk her and her books (and the men in them)!
Fantastic read! Short, sexy, fabulous!

The Author

Mary Wine has written over twenty novels that take her readers from the pages of history to the far reaches of space. Recent winner of a 2008 EPPIE Award for erotic western romance, her book LET ME LOVE YOU was quoted “Not to be missed…” by Lora Leigh, New York Times best-selling author.

When she’s not abusing a laptop, she spends time with her sewing machines…all of them! Making historical garments is her second passion. From corsets and knickers to court dresses of Elizabeth I, the most expensive clothes she owns are hundreds of years out of date. She’s also an active student of martial arts, having earned the rank of second degree black belt.

I tried this because I really loved the cover. She looks so stubborn! And she really, really is! The sexual tension is there but just to warn you, prob not as much as you’re used to! I am curious what you will think!
