Crispin, the Duke of Hurst, has never met a woman he couldn't handle--until he's hit over the head with a basketful of mistletoe by a young lady who mistakes his intentions. When he gets into a tussle with her--and she can hold her own--Crispin knows he has finally met his match.
Miss Gwen Prim is mortified that she attacked a duke, but even more concerning is the way her resolve melts when she's near him. She's never felt this way about a London gentleman in her life. And with the magic of Christmas in the air, she may end up with a proposal she didn't expect...in this delightful Regency gem, The Duke and Miss Christmas by New York Times bestselling author Amelia Grey
Took me a minute to remember this one. I remember the meeting of the two main characters. It’s hilarious and will definitely stick in your mind. Sadly however, I don’t remember a lot of the rest of the story. This is one that I’ll have to go back and re-read, especially since it’s the holiday season and this sounds like I enjoyed it immensely. With no memory of it sans the beginning I would think that the story did not stick with me and I would probably deduct a star. 4/5
In a word? Adorable!
These characters instantly pulled me into this gorgeous tale of England and left me breathless! I love an odd meeting and these two meet in such an incredulous way that I could not help but laugh.
The duke actually has a past that many people know about. He is known to be a rogue but Gwen does not know him. She suspects that he is trying to take her sister and pegs him as even worse than a rogue and smacks him upside the head! You know the reader, and the characters, are in for it when they meet like this.
True to their meeting, they are both incredulous but so adoring. Gwen looks after her sisters and puts their happiness before her own, while Crispin loves his family.
The way the plot continued, I just wanted more. Sadly there is a bit of an excerpt to the next book, so this ends at 87% on the kindle. I was devastated to know I was at the end of their story! But excited that this is just a novella in a series.
I will definitely read more in this series. It’s delightful!
