Scientists are the new rock stars. The infection has been contained for nearly three months, and the world is celebrating. But humans are still dying. Rebekah Taylor has seen it firsthand. Her husband was killed right in front of her by the very creatures that humans were told they no longer had to fear.

Rebekah is determined to find out who is responsible for the death of her husband and the obvious cover-up. Fueled with revenge, she begins to find answers that lead to one frightening conclusion. The apocalypse might be over, but the battles are just beginning.

My Thoughts

The rule for zombie books should be that if you cannot come up with something that hasn’t been done, don’t do it. Karice Bolton does NOT have this problem!

People that like to read books with zombies have probably read 10’s if not 100’s of them but we keep going back for more? Why? Because of authors like Karice. In this book the plot does stem around zombies but it is not all about the survival from zombies. Actually this one was much more thrilling than any zombie book I’ve read. She was able to drive the story without creating a bloody mess with the zombies. Now, for fans of gore there is some but it isn’t overwhelming at all. This was written for anyone that likes to read, horror lovers and non-horror lovers alike!

My favorite part of reading zombie book is the human emotion behind it. If the book is able to take you somewhere emotionally with its characters, then it’s probably going to be a good book. And from page one I was totally on board with these characters. There are still some that I’m just not sure that I trust because damn there are a lot of trust issues going on in this but I do know that I love Rebakah and her strength and how she grows in this.

The one tiny thing I didn’t like was that it was hard for me to see how much time was spent throughout the story. But that didn’t stop me from devouring this baby!

Ends on a cliffhanger which is killing me! But I know I’ll be ready for book two as soon as I hear it is published!

RecruitZ is .99 cents on Amazon! If you’re into zombies and / or thrillers go buy it now!

Yeah I have read a lot of zombie books and I still love them and this one sounds so unique and intense!! The emotional aspect of zombie books are my fav part too. It’s not about gore but about wanting the characters to survive you know. Great review!!
