Horrifying Mondays

Horrifying Mondays is all about what scares us. The horror behind the curtains that we refuse to open, the creatures in the dark, and sometimes those creatures that are in the open!

Each Monday will bring a different horror… to help you cope with the horror that is Monday with the horrors that are in the fantasy world.

Horror for Today: Psycho Crazy A**holes

If you’re really lucky you won’t run into any in your life time. Sadly some people do. Brock Clouser is about to! Short but totally packed with andrenalin filled horror!

From Robert Kent, author of All Together Now, comes a new tale of terror. College student Brock Clouser is working a summer job delivering pizzas. During a run to the outskirts of Harrington, Indiana, he wrecks his car at an isolated country home. Though most everyone there has been violently murdered, he’s not alone.

This is a novelette, not a full novel, and it’s mean and nasty and intended for a mature audience. It is absolutely not appropriate for younger readers. It’s a gruesome, repugnant tale featuring horrific acts of violence sure to warp young minds. Also, these particular characters speak in EXTREMELY COARSE language.

My Thoughts Horror

This is only a bit over an hour but I have to say I was impressed.

The narration by David Radtke was very well done and took me into the book straight away. I think he did a wonderful job of inflecting when needed and in certain situations when the main character was freaking out, I could not only sense through the plot, but could feel it emanating from David’s voice. He sounds like he is narrating from The Twilight Zone at first, while he’s giving the specifics about how the incident happened and to set the scene but quickly as you get into the main character, Brock, his voice changes to a more character driven voice.

The plot is amazing and at times I wanted to yell at Brock but I have to say he didn’t really do anything stupid to get into this situation, he’s just a pizza delivery guy. I was really impressed with the movement of the plot and thought that I knew what was going to happen but I was totally wrong. I think Robert Kent leads us wonderfully down this horrific rabbit hole and shows us things we hope to never see again! Except maybe in his next book.

In short: Wonderful plot and character creation, great narration!
